Many
people ask, "What is involved in receiving a Reiki treatment?"
To receive a Reiki(pronounced Ray-Key) treatment as it was taught
to us in the Usui System of Natural Healing (the traditional system
of Reiki that was rediscovered in the late 1800's), you should receive
four Reiki treatments in order to complete a Reiki series. These
four separate treatments allows us to work on all aspects of the
individual self; mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional. Reiki
is truly holistic, and no aspect of your being is left un-addressed.
Many people have said that Reiki is much like the "laying on
of hands" and is very sweet and nurturing. Reiki as integrative
medicine, aims to restore, enhance, and support the natural wisdom
of the body.
When
you come in for your first appointment you will first fill out a
short form of reference. We then go into the sessions first hour
starting with counseling, where we take a look at what goes on within
your life on the various levels of your existence: your home life,
your work life, and any other environment that has an effect on
you. These sessions are very effective in opening your awareness
as to how you have participated in actualizing the disease or problem
(if one is present), as the body is a puppet to the mind. There
are very few victims here, and that is good thing. We'll work on
teaching you how to become empowered in your situations in order
to shift them, change them, learn from them, or to accept them.
After
the hour of counseling, you then have a Reiki treatment that will
also take approximately one hour. The Reiki treatment is very relaxing.
The client lies on the table fully dressed. I ask you to remove
your watch, belt, shoes and glasses. Everything else stays on, so
please wear comfortable clothing of natural fibers, if at all possible,
such as cotton, line, silk, etc. We then use Young Living, Therapeutic
Grade Essential Oils (aromatherapy) that best suit your situation.
We play soft relaxing music and the Reiki treatment begins.
There
are 12 hand positions we use around the body, allowing us to address
the entire endocrine system, the seven main chakras, all of the main
organs, and the nervous system. As I place my hands around the body
you will feel warmth emanating from my hands that goes through your
clothing and skin, moving to the internal part of your being. It
is a sensation that many people have never felt before. It is very
nurturing, comforting, and soothing to the mind as well as to the
body.
I
encourage everyone to fall asleep during Reiki treatment. They then
wake up at the end of the session feeling much better than they
did before the session began. Not everyone chooses to sleep, some
talk through the entire Reiki treatment, and that's ok, too. You,
at this point, become aware of the tremendous benefits Reiki also
has as a stress buster. Reiki helps the body to eliminate those
things that do not contribute to our highest good. It is not up
to the Reiki practitioner to know how to correct problems within
the body. Any correction is truly up to refer to as , The Divine
Creator or the Universal Life Force Energy which is the definition
of Reiki. As I stated earlier, the client is encouraged to sleep
during the session, as Reiki is not about what the conscious/rational
mind communicates to the body. Reiki simply works whether you believe
in it or not. I have found that sessions are more beneficial when
the subconscious mind is activated and the conscious mind is at
rest, as in sleeping. The conscious mind can hold so much judgment
and can limit our ability to heal.
The
cost of the initial Reiki sessions is $135.00, and will last approximately
two hours. I do not continue to "run the clock" after
two hours, as I need to truly comprehend who you are, and how we
can best approach your situation. Please allow yourself a little
extra time, if your schedule permits. After
